Tobacco : what happens when you smoke a cigarette?
Tobacco kills close to six million people every year, but few people know the true effects of a cigarette in the body.
On average, smokers have less ten years of life than people who don’t smoke. Even so, people keep smoking because they say that it relieves stress and the pleasure of a cigarette’s worth more than anything. But, is it actually that way with tobacco?
While smoking a cigarette, there are many immediate effects on the human body. To begin with, nicotine acts as a stimulant, which relieves nervous stress, but on the other hand, becomes addictive in moments of greatest tension. Once the anxiety sets in, there is a willingness to pull for another cigarette.
When in contact with the body, the 600 ingredients within a cigarette trigger a chain reaction, making over 7000 different chemicals to emerge in the body. Blood pressure increases, the good cholesterol is absorbed, leaving space for the bad one, there is tendency to develop blood clots and breathing becomes costly. The state of mind improves momentarily, but the trend will be to feel more depressed and less happy the longer you stay away from a cigarette.
It is possible that smokers lose vision over the years. There are many smokers who develop cataracts. The structure of your skin also changes over time: your fingertips will become yellowish, as well as the teeth, while you can notice a premature ageing and discoloration of the nails.
Who smoke also often complain of digestive system disorders, starting with throat infections (pharyngitis and laryngitis), as well as cavities and halitosis. On the other hand, the risks of getting cancer increase exponentially: throat, tongue, mouth, lung, liver and kidney, among others. The possibility of contracting diabetes is also enhanced by the use of tobacco.
Think there are sufficient reasons to stop smoking a cigarette? Put them in the trash and start a life today.
