The most common sports injuries
Any person who train frequently and systematically is subject to suffer injuries – know them.
This does not apply only to professional athletes or elite competition, but to all who make the sport a constant in their life. Even if the practice is done correctly, there are injuries more typically to occur on those who practice regularly exercise, whether they are professional or amateur athletes.
Repeated overstressing of the body will eventually bring consequences, as your system starts to resent the sport activity. These are some of the injuries that the athletes should be aware.
Plantar Fasciitis – this is an injury that causes a lot of pain. It is the inflammation of the plantar fascia, a thick fibrous structure located on the sole that extends from the heel bone to the toes. In these cases, this structure becomes more tense losing its flexibility. The pain while walking can be quite acute. Especially in practitioners of any kind of running activity or for those who remain on foot a long time daily, can suffer, especially if you don’t use the proper shoes or if you have flat feet.
Sprains – This is the most common injury in sports. Occurring usually in the ankle, it can also occur in the knee, sprains are caused by overstretching of the ligaments and the structures that ensure the stability of the joints. Result from sudden movements, misplacement of the foot or a twist that force the joint to make a move which it is not used. Any sport that involves being with on foot is likely to provoke them.
Dislocation – The dislocations are much more likely to occur in an athlete than a person who doesn’t practice sports and it is the misplacement of one or more bones of the joint. When the joint suffers a violent force, directly or indirectly, the bone can be pushed out of its normal position and lead to dislocations.
Low back pain – this injury is more common to those who train with weightlifting or do wrong positions, while performing exercises.
Knee Injuries – the largest joint in the human body is also that more prone suffer with the continuing practice of some sports. Athletes most affected by this problem are football, rugby, volleyball, basketball players and gymnasts. The most common injuries affect the Anterior cruciate ligament, one of the most important ligaments in knee stability.
