Bicycle. Cycle like a pro
Did you decide to experience the benefits that a bike brings to your health but don’t want to make rookie mistakes? Here’s how to cycle.
If you know that cycling is one of the best exercises for your physical and mental health, it’s time to start taking it seriously. This is one of the activity that can literally start from one second to the other. You don’t need to go to a gym to start practicing it or wait until you have the necessary equipment. Just get on your bike, get out of the house and start to cycle. Obviously, you should consult a doctor if you want to practice it more intensely or for extended periods of time. But, in fact, a ride to a calm pace does not require special care, unless you suffer from any health problem that needs to be watched.
If you do not want to look like that you just started this sport, avoid the biggest mistakes that give you away immediately:
Check the seat height
Before you start cycling, remember to check how high is the seat. You might not want it to be too high, because you will have difficulty in reaching the pedals, nor too low. Nothing worse than cycling with a low seat, which will cause pain in the knees. The right measure is when your knee is slightly bent when the pedal is in the lowest possible point. You should still feel comfortable when touching your foot to the pedal.
Protection
Gear up as it should be. Don’t be afraid to look like a newbie for using too many protections. Professional athletes know well that injuries can’t be neglect by no wearing protective equipment while cycling. Helmet, knee pads, hand gloves, and other are nominated are kinds of the ideal equipment.
Maintenance
Bicycles also need maintenance. You don’t want to look like a newbie trying to cycle who doesn’t understand the importance of caring for your bike, do you? Clean the seat regularly, set the perfect height, or luv the chains are details that should be aware of.
Do not use speeds
The speeds are the perfect allies for ascents or to give you movement when the terrain is flat. Learn how to use them and change them depending on the situations. Look for information on the subject or ask advice from a friend.
Do not carry a repair kit
Go out for cycling without thinking about the unexpected is an amateur attitude, especially if you are alone. Air pumps or a tire inner tube should always walk with you when you go out to ride.
Take too many objects
The other way around is also not advisable. Load your bike with everything you think you might need, besides not being practical, make you look like a newbie. Filling your bike with all sorts of tools is not ideal.
