The vitamin deficiency, or avitaminosis, is characterized by the lack or failure in absorption, it can become a serious health problem. In developed countries, it is rare to note avitaminoses, due to their relatively balanced diet. Besides, the lack of vitamins is easily solved by taking vitamin supplements. The lack of vitamin A, related to vision, the so-called “night blindness” or even, in extreme cases, total blindness in children.
