After all, you were together many years and it was an integral part of your life. Don’t let anyone say you’re crazy for being crying by an animal. If you feel better, try to talk to someone who has had that experience and exchange ideas on how they felt and ask for advice on how to take the loss.
If the aid is not enough, you may have recourse to a professional. Don’t be afraid to seem ridiculous. Never forget that you just lost a partner, and this experience is always painful and very difficult. The funeral of your pet can also help you deal with your pain, by openly demonstrating your emotions. You can, for example, make a tribute by planting a tree or preparing an album with photographs of your pet.
Do not attempt to replace the deceased animal by another animal, too soon. You have to feel emotionally healed in order to have another animal in your life. If you replace it early, the new animal may be just it, a replacement of the previous one.
